Who Said We Will Know How God’s Spoken Purpose Will Unfold?

Sadly, many Believers are of the assumption that when God speaks to us about His purposes for our life, that we will immediately understand it all, know what it will look like, and how it will unfold...NOT!

That is not even true biblically. Abraham was told to get up and go to a land that God would show him. He didn’t even know where he was going. Talk about stepping out to follow God on blind faith...he sure did it. But yet most of us won’t take a step unless we know the X-Y-Z of God’s Plan, never mind the A-B-C.

Next month, March 2021, will be five years since my Apostolic Commissioning. About a year or so before then, God spoke to me very clearly a phrase of instruction showing His unfolding purpose for my life and ministry. He Said: “It is time for you to do for others what Leo did for you.” Leo is both my natural father and my spiritual father. All through my teenage years he poured into me preparing me for ministry, even before I acknowledged I was called to ministry.

I was not the only one he did that for. He has done it all of my life from my teen years on...and it continues to this day. He was a Spiritual Father before anybody even knew what a Spiritual Father was. Kind of like the old Barbara Mandrell song, “She was Country when Country wasn’t cool.” I certainly knew what God meant when He said that to me. But He was not done with that first phrase, He went on to clarify it further by saying that it was time to “Pay It Forward” (which of course is a famous movie that I could relate to).

So, even though I understood what God meant, and I knew what I was being called to, I had no idea how it was going to manifest or come to pass. I just made up my heart and my mind that I was saying yes to God and would do what He was revealing. But, I had no clue what I was doing!

This is where we all live all the time. Even though God knows the end from the beginning, He never reveals the end from the beginning. But by faith and obedience, not knowing where we are going, like Abraham we step out to fulfill God’s purpose trusting that He will direct and order our steps because we are the Righteous.

My Case was not so different from yours. It started with my first Spiritual Daughter who came into my life right about that time. She was doing an Internet Radio show and I was invited to be a guest. With my first meeting with her God said to me: “This is a long-term relationship and you can help her if she will let you.” He also revealed to me that she was called to be a Prophetess. So I began pouring into her regularly getting her ready for the call on her life without telling her what I knew or what I was doing, much like what my Dad did with me.

A few years later came an urge or an unction to begin to do Facebook Live Broadcasts about two and a half years ago. I had never even thought about this before...but I followed what was in my heart to do...not knowing what I was doing. About 7 or 8 months in, even though our audience was growing and we were having great responses to our teachings, I began to feel a sense of frustration, because I could not interact with the audience. I wanted to speak to them and answer their questions, and just pour into them, like Leo did for me.

With that (Divine) Dissatisfaction, we began our monthly, private, small group, Zoom Meeting, mentoring, Webinars in February of 2019. Who knew that through this vehicle God would bring Sons and Daughters into my life that I might “Pay It Forward” and “Do For Others What Leo Did For Me?” I sure didn’t...but God sure did!

I have recently told some of my Sons and Daughters that I kind of backed into this role or function as a Spiritual Father. Sure, my ego would want to say in my best Religious Voice, “Bless God, I knew this was how it was going to be.” But, truth be told, I had no earthly idea! Every step we take on the road to our destiny is a step into the unknown, following after peace in our hearts and the unction of the inner witness of the Holy Spirit.

Your life is no different than mine. Yes, you may not have the same calling or assignment, but your direction step by step will come the same way. God will speak to you to unlock “The Potential Of Your Purpose” as He sees it, but then it is up to you to embrace it, yield to it, commit to it, and follow His leading one step at a time, even though you do not know where you are going, but if you stick with it, it will manifest.
