Yesterday I had the privilege of hosting a Roundtable discussion of Seasoned Leaders. These thoughts were kind of my summation at the end of one of the topics of discussion.
Jesus called the 12 to be with Him, and then named them as Apostles, a military term, meaning Admiral or General.
This was also the beginning of Establishing Kingdom Order and Kingdom Culture.
There was to be Authority and Structure in the Kingdom where it’s Envoys carried and exercised the Authority Of The King.
But many then did not, and now do not, understand the Laws of the Kingdom.
The Kingdom He was establishing was not like earthly Kingdoms. The Law and Culture of His Kingdom is the Law of Love.
Even some of the 12 did not get it at first:
“But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”” Matthew 20:25-28 NKJV
Even though there is Rank, Order, and Authority with Apostles in the Kingdom; The Kingdom Culture He Established was not too Lord it over everyone else as earthly kingdoms do, but to serve the others.
It is true that Apostles were set in the church First.
It is true that the Word First means First in rank, order or succession.
But the Culture Of His Kingdom was one of love and servanthood, not one of lording it over.
Where many Apostles on a Power Trip have missed it, is that they have not had a revelation of the Law of the Kingdom (Love), only of the order of the Kingdom (Generals or Admirals).
One cannot truly understand Apostolic Government and Order apart from understanding Kingdom Culture.
