The Gift Of Prophecy VS The Office Of The Prophet

Almost every time I teach on Prophecy, Prophets or Prophetic Gifting; I usually make this statement somewhere as a foundational truth: “Every Prophet will Prophesy, but not everyone who Prophesies is a Prophet!” I recently posted this statement on Facebook and got a slew of “Likes” and comments stating things like: “Too many do not understand the difference, and the difference is vast!” “If the Church taught it properly we would not have this confusion.” Getting this kind of feedback lets me know that there is, in spite of all the excellent teaching and books that are out there, still a tremendous amount of ignorance in the Body of Christ when it comes to this subject matter. First of all th

How Attitudes & Actions Affect The Prophetic

Quite often churches and groups of people get frustrated because they long to see a Prophetic Move of God in their midst but don’t see it. Sometimes we are told in Scripture as much what not to do as we are told what to do. I want to examine some of those things we are told not to do in this blog. “Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 NASB (Emphasis Mine) “Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Another Principle is called the comparative mention principle
